The Impact of Migration on Churches Worldwide

"The impact of migration on the church and the ecclesial context" is the theme of a 6-8 June 2007 conference in Nairobi, Kenya of the Global Ecumenical Network on Migration (GEM). To be opened by Kenya's minister for immigration, and hosted by the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), the conference will be attended by representatives of churches, church-related organizations and ecumenical bodies in Africa, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East, North America and the Pacific.

With a special interest in the Orthodox world and after working and studying the mentalities and the history of the Orthodox Churches with other confessions, Dr. Kaisamari Hintikka will work as Project Secretary for the Church in Dialogue Commission of CEC, a position which will allow her to grasp the future orientation of relations between the Orthodox Church and the Churches of Reformation. This interview tries to shape an outline of these relations.

Finnish Researcher To Work On Orthodox-Protestant Dialogue

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland has seconded a researcher to the Conference of European Churches (CEC) to work on the evolution of the dialogues between the Orthodox Churches and the Churches of the Reformation. Dr Kaisamari Hintikka will work as Project Secretary for the Churches in Dialogue Commission of CEC on a part time basis from April through December 2007.
