New Round in U.S. Lutheran-Roman Catholic Dialogue Opens
CHICAGO (ELCA) -- Focusing on the theme, "The Hope for Eternal Life," a new round of the U.S. Lutheran-Roman Catholic Dialogue began here, 40 years after the first talks between the two religious traditions began. More than 20 Lutheran and Roman Catholic leaders and theologians participated in the first meeting of Round XI at the Cenacle Conference and Retreat Center here Dec. 1-4.

 
ELCA Releases Draft of Full Communion Statement with UMC
CHICAGO (ELCA) -- A working draft of a possible full-communion statement of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and United Methodist Church (UMC) is now available for discussion and comment by congregations of both traditions.

 
South-African/Norwegian Church Agreement signed
The Church of Norway`s General Synod November 16th adopted a Partnership Agreement with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Southern Africa (ELCSA). The title of the agreement is "Communion in Faith, Life and Witness".

The 35th General Meeting of the Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe took place in Turku, Finland

The 35th Anniversary General Meeting of EYCE was held in Turku, Finland from 24th - 30th October 2005. More than 40 delegates and guests came together to discuss and decide on the future thematic focuses of EYCE, to elect a new Executive Committee and to further develop together EYCE's identity and its role in ecumenical youth work in Europe.

Lebanon hosted a Consultation between the Orthodox and Evangelical Reformed Churches in the Middle East from October 13-19, 2005, at the Evangelical Conference Center in Dhour Choueir-Lebanon.
