The G8 meeting, as well as any other manifestation seen as a symbol of globalization, raises questions. But what kind of answers have religions to these questions, is still an unknown thing. Read here about Moscow Faith Summit.

Some of Christians already expressed their opinions about the social justice and the voice of the poor. Before great summits: EU, NATO, G8, religious leaders issue their own thoughts about the problems globalization and social injustice raise everyday.

This kind of thinking is also behind Moscow Faith Summit taking place these days in Russia (July 3-5). It readdresses some of the questions raised also in Porto Alegre, where social justice, globalization and other related subjects were at the to of the list. But what may come from such a meeting?

Already expressed with great vigor and penetrating and logical verve, the doubts regarding this kind of meeting are without any doubt serious and sometimes overwhelming (see here the comment from Cristian Buchiu made in the moment when the Moscow meeting was announced in Porto Alegre).

One of the announced hopes of the participants caught our eye in a special way: “There is the hope and the wish that all the results, all the conclusions, all the thoughts formulated in the course of the summit will reach the heads of states,” said Church spokesman Vsevolod Chaplin. Regardless of the touch of wooden language (recognizable in any speech of a Russian responsible), this phrase makes us think: either this thinking is not so much convinced about the usefulness of such a meeting, thus in fact expressing only the hope to be heard or, if it is sincere, then there's a touch of surrealism in it.

The common vision about this issue will be expressed in a declaration to be sent to the political leaders that will attend the G8 meeting in Moscow.
