Dr Samuel Kobia hailed the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed on 9 January 2005 by the Government of Sudan and the Sudan People's Liberation Army/Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SLPA/SPLM).

Anna Marie AagaardRenowned Danish scholar Professor Anna Marie Aagaard turned 70 on January 14th. This was celebrated by Aarhus University with lectures in honor of her by Professor Risto Saarinen from Helsinki University in Finland.
